Materials and accessories
| Qty | Part |
|---|---|
| 1 | Neodymium disc magnets and two-component adhesive |
| 1 | Wood paints or acrylic paints |
| 1 | Nylon thread or yarn |
Also: sandpaper (grit 120 and 240), a utility knife or fine saw and, for joints, a rubber mallet.
Carving and finishing
- Clamp the workpiece flat on the spoilboard or secure it with double-sided tape, and set the origin as shown in the carving assistant.
- Engrave points, gills and waves, mill eyes and holes, then cut out fish, pond and rods.
- Free the parts at the holding tabs with a utility knife or fine saw and sand the tab remains flush.
- Lightly break the edges with sandpaper (grit 120, then 240) and remove burrs.
Assembly and final touches
- Glue an M5 washer into each fish's mouth. Tie a 40 cm line to each rod with a magnet with eyelet at the end.
- Paint the fish and put them in the pond; whoever catches the most points wins. Magnets do not belong in children's hands without supervision: glue them firmly and check regularly.
